Well what do you know, when you think that all the minty ones are gone, one walks in the door. This one, I am told, was in an old Army duffle bag.
The condition is just awesome. Conservatively retaining about 98-99% of the original Walther factory blue. There is some slight sharp edge silvering, the usual but minor muzzle wear, a few pinpricks and a couple of minute rub marks, that's it. The front grip strap has not even started to gray.
There are no rust spots or scratches anywhere.
The slide is stamped Eagle/356, Eagle/ Swastika, Eagle/356. The frame is stamped Eagle/356. The barrel group is stamped Eagle/356. & 8.04 for the chamber dimension.
All numbers match except for the magazine which is only off by 19. It is stamped 7047, and must be a factory error. The brown plastic grips are flawless, not a chip or crack anywhere with really no evidence of use.
The bore, like the rest of the gun, is minty. It is mirror bright and scalpel sharp without even a hint of frost. The gun comes with one correct serial numbered AC/42 mag, and as we said off by only 19 numbers. It is stamped on the spine Eagle/356, Eagle/356, on the side P-38.
A collection center piece, or if you want to put some rounds through, it should be very satisfying at the range.......$1495.
