SALE PENDING: For Sale: 1918 US Army M1911 Colt 45 ACP Pistol. This pistol was brought back from WWI use and nickel plated at some time in its life. It was sent to Fogle's Gunsmithing in OH to be stripped and re-blued. It is now transformed back into its true original finish and a true testament of its history in the hands of our veterans. It has the original Colt double diamond wooden grip panels. It has a very functional and excellent condition pinned magazine marked with a B for Barnes and Kobert. The barrel is marked with a P on the exposed area of the pistol ejection port. It also is stamped with a R which is a rarity. It has the typical WWI smooth transition on the bottom of the barrel. The barrel is very slightly frosted with strong rifling. The frame is stamped with JMG(J.M. Gilbert), a Colt inspector at that time. All stampings are crisp.
