Description:
This gun is the break-open variety in cal 22 short. Markings on the bbl are "W. Wurfflein Philadelphia PA USA Patented June 24, 1884". To activate the break-open there is another piece that looks like a second hammer that opens the action. Once the action is open, the hinge-pin is very nice and tight. I believe this to be some type of target or Parlor rifle About the first 12" is oct bbl and then goes to a round bbl. From muzzle to breach the barrel measures 30 inches.There is a small crack in the wood by the tang the wood is very nice with nice figure.The finish is turning to a brown.This is a very rare rifle and in great condition for its age.
