Features full stock with 42” barrel with period correct woven sling. The lock shows crisp Eagle over U.S. along with Harpers Ferry 1849. Overall good condition showing good markings with crisp action. Stock is good showing numerous markings with “Cs” carved into right side buttstock & interesting “PX9ARA” stamped on trigger guard tang with U.S. stamped on heel of the buttplate. Left side of the barrel retains faint markings with visible “V”. Under side of stock shows a repair just behind rear barrel band. The M1842 was the first percussion musket made by both national armories & had fully interchangeable parts with the Springfield Contract.
