Springfield 1884 Trapdoor, .45-70, 33" bbl, shiny bore, good rifling, adjustable rear sight, blade front sight, nice wood stock with some handling marks and a cartouche on left side, fitted with a metal butt plate. The left side of the barrel is marked with “V P (Eagle head) P", top of barrel with an "A", top strap marked with a "U" on left side, front strap has a "U" on the right side, right side action plate marked "US Springfield" with Eagle Crest, and the trapdoor is marked with "U.S. MODEL 1884" and the serial number is on the top of the action. This is a very nice rifle.
