For sale, a beautiful vintage single shot custom rifle built on a FN action chambered in the unique 30-40 Krag Improved. This beautiful custom was built with a Belgian FN action, a heavy varmint profile barrel, a single stage target-style trigger, custom built floorplate and trigger guard, and a custom Monte Carlo style stock with a Maple tip and White Line pad. The rifle was topped off with a brand new T-Series Benchrest & Silhouette Weaver 36 power scope with tall target turrets with a fine crosshair reticle and screw-on aluminum lens caps. The rings and 1-piece base are Leupold. This classy looking long range rifle is minty all the way around. According to the previous owner it has never been fired. It was built by a gunsmith in St.Louis who has since passed away and has been in storage ever since. The blue finish on the metal parts is near perfect and the stock is also minty with no signs of wear or use. The bore in the 26 inch heavy barrel is virgin and bright with strong rifling with sharp lands and grooves. It was chambered for a unique cartridge not often encountered based on the 30-40 Krag cartridge called the 30-40 Krag Improved. It amounts to a Krag cartridge on steroids and performs very closely to the 7mm Remington Magnum. The brass can be fire-formed by firing standard 30-40 Krag ammo in this rifle, and there is a huge selection of .30 caliber bullets available to choose from commercially. As mentioned before the rifle has never been fired and the scope was a recent addition by the previous owner so it will need to be sighted-in. The box for the scope is included in the sale and has the owners manual in it. The scope itself was a $500 addition. This is a beautiful, classy, 1960's-70's vintage one-of-a-kind custom rifle that needs a new home. It would be a great addition to any rifle collection, and it also would be a lot of fun to take to the range to see what it's capable of.
