If you are looking for a bargain priced Mannlicher Schoenauer to shoot and add to your collection, this 1908 Carbine Model by Steyr is it! Mechanically this rifle is in excellent condition. The bore is clean and bright with strong rifling, the refinished stock is attractive and sound, and the action and double set triggers are in excellent condition. At some point in this rifle's life the exterior of the barrel was allowed to rust and pit leaving behind scattered pitted areas between the rear and front sights. The rust was cleaned off, but the pits are still visible on the barrel. The remainder of the barrel, receiver, and other metal parts have a lot of the factory blue finish remaining with only some small areas of wear. The drop out rotary magazine is in excellent condition, as are the claw style scope mounts. The butt of the rifle has a ribbed metal buttplate with a trap in it that holds 3 cartridges. Everything works 100% like it did when this rifle left the factory. Typically these rifles sell for $1000 to $1500 in nice condition, and up to $2000 if in excellent condition. This rifle will make a great hunting rifle with a lot of class, and is priced to sell at $695.
