Description:
This is the best original WWII Paratrooper Carbine we have had. It appears to have been unissued and retains all of its original parts as manufactured in early 1944 (barrel date is 1/44). Serial numbered in the 4950xxx serial range, it has a clear ordnance stamp, an "IO" stamp on the bottom of the "fat boy" pistol grip, high wood stock, no bayonet lug, and a two position "flip" sight. Metal parts show no appreciable wear, as does the stock, except for a vertical dent where the butt plate strikes the left fore stock. There are no arsenal rework marks on the stock, and metal parts have not been redone, in our opinion. This is a great example of the famous WWII Airborne Assault Rifle.
