Description:
We are offering for sale a U.S. HASTON Model 1842 Percussion Pistol. This gun is in very good, collectible condition. Lock plate is dated 1846; Barrel dated 1846. Gun remains in nice, original condition with silver metal and is in fully functioning condition, complete with ramrod.
8 ½” smoothbore is chambered for .54 caliber ammunition. The barrel is very good with original finish. “US”, “JCB” and “P” are all marked on the left side of the barrel approaching the breech end. “1846” marked on tang. Lock plate is very good with original unpolished finish. “US HASTON” mark is strong, as is the “Middtn Conn 1846” mark behind the hammer. Hammer cocks tightly and has tremendous forward force. Trigger functions flawlessly. Furniture is very good with two light cartouches on the left side. No breaks or cracks. Brass components remain unpolished and show a beautiful patina. Original ramrod is intact and remains in fully functioning condition.
