Payment Types Accepted: Visa,Master Card, Discover,Check Description: Wonderful cased set of mid 1700's Duelling Pistols. This pair of flintlock officers/dueling pistols were most likely made in Prussia or France, between 1740 and 1760. Their 11 inch barrels are smooth bore, of about .52 caliber, part round, and part octagon. They are attractively cased in a mahogany case with flask, bullet mold, cleaning rod, and a multiple use tool. They do have set triggers and sights and cock safeties, all in good working order. While not overly fancy, they do show excellent relief carving around the upper tang and behind the ramrod entry pipe. Both rods are tipped with horn and have a threaded fitting on the small end for the iron worm. These guns are typical of those brought to this country by mercenaries or French officers during our Revolutionary War and probably have an interesting history, if only they could talk.
