Description:
Colt 1871-72 open top 44Rim serial #294. Gun still functions good. Bore still has a lot of rifling. All matching serials on locking block, barrel, trigger guard, grip, cylinder rod, frame, and a visible 2 on cylinder. 30% of blue still remains on the frame, Pitting on gun , but no current rust spots. Grip screw is marred, and ejection rod screw has been replaced. 213 on the swing gate, and on receiver. H marked still on cylinder, barely visible colt patent on cylinder, and Colt Patent on receiver is very clear. Sam Colt address on barrel is visible, but faded in a few spots. 7.5" barrel.. S C stamped on barrel under lug.Colt Archive letter will accompany gun. Verified by Colt that serial number 294 was shipped to JP Moore & Sons in New York on August 3rd 1872 with a shipment of 50 guns.
