SOLD..Antique 1886 Winchester 45-90. Here is yet another very nice 1886 Winchester in the very sought after 45-90 caliber I just got in. S/N 27371 and made in 1888. Cody Worksheet is incuded and the gun is all correct. Has the standard 26" barrel. The bore is very good.plus and shows strong rifling all the way through with just some minor roughness but NO big pits or craters and NO rings or bulges. It shoots great. The mechanics are excellent as well. Butter smooth action and gobbles up those long 45-90 rounds with out a hitch. Feeds, fires and ejects perfectly. The markings are all very good throughout. Still retains the original front and rear sights. The metal is a very smooth medium to dark brown patina that has never been cleaned on or messed with. Just the way you love to find these ole Winchesters. Shows a couple very small and minor spots of pin prick roughness on the upper and lower tang that is hardly worth mentioning. The mag tube still retains about 35% original blue in the protected area under the barrel.{see photo}. Very nice and un touch metal on this one. The wood is great also. The forearm has no splits or cracks and still fits full and tight to the metal. Never been cleaned or sanded on but just honest use and minor handling dings. The butt stock is very nice as well. Fits tight to the metal and shows a small sliver on the left side by upper tang {see photo}. No other splits or cracks but just some very minor honest handling dings and light scatches. The wood still has very nice color and is not all dark and oil and sweat soaked like so many you see. All the screw heads are fairly clean and sharp and all are servicable. This is a straight up honest, un fooled with ole 86 witha very good bore, in the most affordable desireable caliber and octagon barrel. Has the Cody work sheet also. I have sold several of these in 45-70 and 45-90 in the last few months at about the same price and they are selling rather quickly. Don't know if I am selling them too cheap or what but I am happy and so have been all my customers so that is what counts. Here is another nice one for sale so don't miss it.
