This rifle has a cartouche mark do 1891 and fits the serial number range listed. This rifle came from Don Striker, who at this time is superintendent of Denali National Park. The rifle was origanlly owned by his grandfather, Fran Striker, who wrote the Lone Ranger series of books. This rifle has also served with the 71 NY Infantry Regiment, located in upstate New York, as evidence by their marking on the stock. The bluing is warn and is considered "in the white".
