RARE Antique C.H. BALLARD DERINGER .41 Pistol
Only a Few Thousand Made!
Here we present an antique C.H. Ballard Single Shot Deringer, made circa 1870, in Worcester, Massachusetts. Only a few thousand are thought to have been made, that figure split into a handful of variations. The pistol was designed to be a tiny but potent self-defense tool, being only 5 inches long and carrying one shot of .41 caliber rimfire ammunition. Its tip-up barrel and automatic extractor made loading and unloading easy.
C.H. Ballard was Charles Ballard, the inventor of the famous and long-lived single shot line of rifles by that name.
This specimen is in very good condition. The iron barrel is part-round, part-octagonal. It bears an even patina on both the brass frame and the barrel. The left grip has been repaired. The bore is good. The action is strong.
This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Compare to only one other specimen found at $3200!
Barrel is 2-13/16 inches in length.
