Description:
#1173. Clamshell action double rifle in 450/400 3” extractor.
Made in September of 1926  , no maker marking . Could have been produced by one of the “Stabil Verschluss” makers : Schuler, Sauer, or Merkel and finished , judging by the engraving by a guild gunmaker.
24” tubes with good bores and strong rifling , good chambers with a couple oxidation spots in the breech end of the right chambers, not affecting the extraction in any way, nor marking the spent brass.
One standing leaf and four folding rear sight. The rib has been slightly cut and drill to fit scope bases. Blacking is 85%
As it stands the rifle shoots the Hornady 400 gr 6”to 7” high and 6” apart at 60 yards.
Weight is 9 lbs 12 Oz. Action is tight,  some oxidation that has been wire brushed, and the screws have been mistreated.
Greener cross bolt , cocking indicator, auto safety, double set triggers. Mechanic in 90% ,cosmetic 80% .
Stock is solid, but the finish shows its age and usage. LOP is 14 ¼” over a ¾” pad , drop is 1 7/16” and 2 ¾” , ¼” cast off.
