Description:
This is a fairly scarce rifle in the US; The Dominican Republic Model 1953 bolt action rifle as converted from the Brazilian Model 1908. HOWEVER, this rifle escaped the conversion to 30-06 as it remains in the original clambering...7mm Mauser. The rest of the rifle has been converted; all Brazilian markings removed and the entire rifle refinished in a glossy blue and high gloss nearly reflective wood varnish. The receiver is marked "ARMERIA FA/REP DOM 1961" Rifle is serial numbered "No 1470" with a matching numbered bolt. Barrel is 29 1/4" with an excellent, bright strong brilliant bore. Metal surfaces are mostly all blued...the extractor has a reddish/brown color and the barrel band springs are nearly a straw color as found on Luger or Nambu pistols. Coverage remains in the 98% range. The stock and handguard have a thick varnish that has a "checked" appearance similar to what thick varnish on a guitar gets with age. Rifle comes with a period leather sling and spring steel front sight cover. We do not see any import markings. FFL or C&R
