Description:
Serial #3900m, 7.63mm Para. (.30 Luger), 11 3/4" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has a few tiny spots of freckling within the grooves. This is one of the rare parts guns that uses a typical commercial 1908 model Luger frame and receiver mated to the long, carbine barrel with carbine rear sight. The “GERMANY" marked barrel has a pale gray-brown patina with about 40-50% of the original blue remaining, and a small post-'68 import stamp on the underside just ahead of the rear sight base. No forend tenon is installed. The frame retains about 75-80% of the original blue with silvering and gray fading along the high edges, bearing surfaces, and some flaked added black finish on the top of the rear toggle link where the original fixed rear sight was ground flush. The trigger, magazine release, takedown lever, safety, and ejector have traces of original straw color remaining with the balance turned either darkly freckled, or fairly bright gray. The walnut grips are in very good condition with some light handling marks and some moderate flattening of the points. A period “washboard" style shoulder stock accompanies the pistol that has an unnumbered stock iron and rather attractive striped grain. The stock is in excellent condition with only some small handling marks and minor blemishes in the original oil finish. Additionally, a single, mismatched, wood-base magazine is included. This is a very nice carbine conversion and rates very good condition overall. FFL or C&R
