Description:
For sale, a 1980's vintage Smith & Wesson Model 65-4 in used but good condition. This stainless steel Smith has been shot and carried, and as such has some scratches and handling marks but nothing major. It has very good overall appearance and a perfect bore in the 4-inch stainless steel barrel. The rifling looks sharp and there is no sign of corrosion or erosion. The action on this Model 65 is very nice with a smooth double action pull, with a trigger that breaks cleanly in double or single action operation. The action at full lock has zero play in it and the cylinder is perfectly in time. The original checkered Walnut S&W medallion grips are also in good condition. They have some small handling marks on them and one tiny little chip out of the front bottom edge of the right grip panel, but no signs of cracks or repairs. They are fit nicely to the grip frame, and they are tight with no wiggle. If you have been looking for an ultra-reliable and tough gun to keep in your home or car for protection, this would be a wise choice. It also has the potential to continue to appreciate in value as Smith & Wesson no longer make the Model 65.
