All matching and original with 4” octagon barrel addressed “MANHATTAN FIRE ARMS CO. NEWARK, N.J./PATENTED MARCH 8, 1864”. Early serial number in the 2,xxx range. British proofed barrel and cylinder. Cylinder with distinctive 5 oval panels engraved with various Naval and Military scenes. Excellent overall with 90% plus case hardening on the frame and lever. 50% blue on barrel. Cylinder with dark patina and minor traces of blue and a 99% crisp cylinder scene. Near mint walnut grips with all the original varnish and the brass straps still have all the silver plating. Excellent bore and in perfect working order. In the original British mahogany case with blue baize lining. Red leather trade label embossed in black “ROBERT JONES/NO.3 GREAT HOWARD STREET/LIVERPOOL”. Case includes a copper bag shaped flask, Eley Bros. cap tin and an excellent “Manhattan Fire Arms/Manufg./ Co./ N.Y.” stamped mold. Very scarce and all original British proofed and cased Manhattan.
