RARE PIPE CASED FACTORY ENGRAVED REMINGTON .22 RF CAL. VEST POCKET SAW HANDLE DERRINGER CIRCA 1860’S. Single shot 3” barrel. Serial number “2” onunderside of barrel. Fine factory scroll engraving and original pearl grips. Top of barrel stamped “REMINGTONS. ILION. N.Y./PATENT OCT. 1. 1861”. Excellent original condition with the original grey patina and minor original dark tarnished silver plating. Hammer with the original bright blue. Excellent mother of pearl grips which are original to the gun. Working order and very good bore. Originally from the James Ellwood Jones, Jr. collection sold at Bourne Co. in 1981 and not on the market since. Very few pipe cased Saw Handle Vest Pocket Deringers exist and this is certainly one of the best.
