All numbers matching Colt 1849. This 1861 vintage 5-shot .31 caliber revolver was built at the beginning of the Civil War. The trigger guard and back-strap retain about 40% of their original silver finish, the grips retain most of their original finish with assorted handling marks, and the barrel, frame, cylinder, loading lever, and hammer do not retain any of their original finishes, lost due to cleaning. The bore is very shootable, with strong rifling, but there is some spotting. Mechanically it works well and the screw-heads are mostly unmolested. What sets this gun apart from most 1849's is its cylinder scene, which is all there and very visible due to a strong stamping.
