General Specs: Merkel, Year 1966, 12 Gauge, 6lbs 13oz, O&U

Gerbruder Merkel of Suhl Germany is an incredible gun maker.  They make all manner of fine guns that run the gamut from entry level side by side guns to more elaborate, fully engraved sidelock ejector over under guns like the one being reviewed here.  Built in 1966, this gun remains in near new condition and is in excellent mechanical condition.  The ejectors are strong and well timed, the single selective trigger functions flawlessly, and the 28” Bohler Steel barrels are without flaw and equipped with Briley 6 thin wall screw-in chokes that range from .005 constriction to .030 constriction in 5 thousandths increments, or SK, IC, LM, M, IM, F for extreme versatility.  Weighing a very light 6lbs. 13oz. and balanced perfectly 1/8” in front of the hinge pin, this gun is lively and would be an amazing field gun for your favorite upland birds, or as a fast handling gun for the clay target sports shooting from a down gun.  The butt stock is nicely figured with good shooting dimensions and the 3 piece forearm fits nicely in hand.  We have priced this gun to sell, and it is ready to give the new owner another 5 decades of flawless use.  Thanks for looking at our inventory!
