Styled after a Czech- and Slovak-army firearm. Lightweight machined-sheet-metal receiver. High-quality, U.S.-made barrel. Wire folding stock with polymer grip and handguards. Century Arms' VZ2008 Rifle puts a modern twist on a historical firearm. It's styled after the VZ58, which was first issued to the Czech army in 1958 and is still in use by both the Czech and Slovak armies, as well as their law-enforcement agencies. That is where the similarities end. Century's version boasts a completely different bolt and fire-control system, a U.S.-made receiver machined from a bar of premium steel and a U.S.-made barrel. Wire folding stock teams with polymer grip and handguards to deliver a solid hold. All-metal parts are bead-blasted and coated with a nonreflective finish.
