CONDITION: Excellent
The Model 645 was the first 45acp semi auto pistol offered by Smith & Wesson. Manufactured between 1985 and 1988, this example was made in 1986. Model 645 is an all stainless double action / single action semi auto featuring and ambidextrous slide mounted safety that is also a decocker. The model has a magazine safety that disconnects the trigger group unless a magazine is installed in the handle. The design also features a half cock notch that will prevent the hammer from contacting the firing pin unless the trigger is pulled fully to the rear. The fixed sights feature a white outline U groove rear and a ramp front sight with red insert. Checkering on front of squared trigger guard & both grip straps along with thin checkered S&W plastic grips make for postitive control even in damp enviornments. This model was featured in seasons 3 & 4 of The TV series Miami Vice carried by character Det Sonny Crockett.
The individual pistol for sale shows very few signs of use with only slight operation marks on the barrel. The pistol comes in it's original factory box serial numbered to the gun and includes the cleaning rod, brush and mop. Two factory 8 round magazines are in excellent condition and both lock the slide back when empty. Tools appear un used, box is excellent showing only minor wear.
