Description:
Beautiful all original "Oesterr. Waffenfabr. Ges-Steyr" full-stock sporting rifle in the venerable 9 x 56 Mannlicher cartridge. Serial range 4xxx (early gun). 20" barrel with clean bore. Ramp front sight and one standing leaf sight (marked "300"). Silky smooth spoon-handle action. 1" claw-detachable scope mounts. Double set trigger. Nicely figured European walnut full stock with small cheekpiece and horn capped pistol grip. 14 1/4" length of pull over serrated buttplate with integral three-hole bullet trap (currently has field cleaning accessory inside). European sling swivels attached.
Condition - Gun is in overall very nice condition. Scant small handling marks on wood. Action and triggers fully functional. Very slight sparse freckling on floorplate. Scope mounts work well and are secure.
Gentlemen, this is a fine rifle to be collected or used with pride in the field.
