RARE Sharps New Model 1859 Berdan Sharpshooter Rifle. Found in a barn near Front Royal, VA. Double set trigger. Berdan range serial number of 55981. Metal with heavy patina but has smooth surface, not pitted. It does function. It is missing the rear site. Forend has typical powder blowout. All marks on metal are present and legible. A little TLC would make a nice, super rare rifle!
