Description:
Exceptionally detailed and attractive game scene engraving on this massive 13lb 13oz 27" rifle in the formidable 577 Nitro caliber. Two position rear sight. Stock has modified comb with appropriate drops of 1 3/8" and 2 1/8"; 14.5" LOP thru serrated wood buttplate (substitute a pad unless you are a masochist!). Very fine checkering, also on grip cap, and normal hunting/handling marks. Manual safety w silver S detail, articulated front trigger, dolls head and Scott square crossbolt, extractors. Excellent screws and very good finishes overall with strong colors and showing only normal wear to wood and metal. Bores are excellent and action is very tight. Appears to be post 1952 according to proof marks. Unmarked maker other than "Jamart Rayeur" (barreler). Vintage doubles in this caliber are rare and usually offered at nosebleed prices. Here's one you can hunt without fear of putting a scratch on the stock. (This is NOT a shotgun conversion, it is a purpose-built massive action with correctly proofed dovetail lump barrels.)
