Description:
In my collection for 17 years, a Colt 1911 A1 produced in early 1942. Pistol is original with matching serial numbers on the receiver and under the firing pin plate. Colt letter included stating the pistol was delivered to the Commanding Officer, Springfield Arsenal in February 1942. Bore is excellent as are the grips. Slight pitting at the end of the receiver that does not detract from the appearance. Original parkerized finish is THIN from carrying and use. This is not surprising as any 1911A1 from 1942 would have been heavily used throughout the war. Very nice original holster included by Milwaukee Saddelry and dated 1942. Includes original unmarked Colt magazine. This pistol is also a great shooter with fantastic action. Appears to have been carried a lot and fired very little.
