Description:
***   REDUCED   ***   Nice New Baker 12 gauge hammergun with 32” Damascus barrels choked Full and Full. Some case coloring visible on frame and the barrels exhibit a fair amount of the original figure and browning. Double triggers and extractors. Rebounding hammers. Serial number is 8262 indicating that it was probably manufactured in 1891. Equipped with circular hammers that fall below the shooter’s line of sight when cocked. Gun can be opened when barrels are cocked

The frame is marked “New Baker” on the left side and like this on the right:

Baker Gun & Forging Co.

    Batavia, N.Y.

Barrels are topped by a wide “pigeon-style” crosshatched rib and are made of nicely figured Damascus. Bores are shiny but there appear to be a few minor pits. Chamber length comes out just shy of 2-3/4”.   ***   The pistol grip stock is made of highly figured walnut but shows some handling marks and worn checkering. A little tender loving care would bring it back to life and what a beauty it would be! The length of pull is 14-1/4” over the original factory ¼” butt plate. Weight is 8lb even. .   ***   Buyer is responsible for all shipping, insurance and related charges. I give a three-day non-firing inspection and will only accept returns if gun is not as described. A nice vintage American double from a small but quality maker. Don’t see these often.
