FINE BRITISH GEORGE III FLINTLOCK BRASS BARREL BLUNDERBUSS BY S. NOCK OF LONDON. 29” overall with 14” part octagon, part round brass barrel with engraved breech and 1” cannon muzzle. Engraved on the top flat “S. NOCK LONDON” for Samuel Nock. Plain convex lock and hammer of Brown Bess style popular in the late 1700’s. Brass mounts with original floral engraving. Trigger guard with nicely formed “Acorn” finial. Walnut stock with checkered wrist. Original rosewood ramrod with horn tip. Fine overall with crisp engraving and maker signature on barrel. Lock with dark patina and stock with the original finish. Old repair to wood around rear of lockplate expertly done. Perfect working order. Very nice, high quality example by one of London’s well known makers.
