Description:
This lovely, custom Winchester High Wall in 218 Bee has a bit of an unusual history. The rifle is built on a thick-side Schutzen action, circa 1917 which was purchased in the early 1990's from Winchester when they liquidated their extensive inventory of test and proof guns. It has a bull (number XX) stainless steel Winchester barrel with all the correct factory markings and a serial number that pre-dates the introduction of the 218 Bee cartridge.
The rifle is beautifully stocked in a classic style with excellent figure and a checkered Niedner butt plate. The engraving is very well done and may be original Winchester (more research suggested). The case colours are vibrant and as new, as is all the rest of the rifle including the bore. The scope is a hard to find, small diameter Unertl 6 power.
All in all, a lovely custom single shot Winchester in the delightful and readily available 218 Bee and with an interesting back story.
