Remington 1858 New Model Army .44 Caliber Percussion Revolver. U.S. Army Issue, Civil War. Action works perfectly. Bore has strong rifling and is dark in the grooves. Gun has 93-95% of an old refinish blue. The grips are fair to good and are interesting. On the bottom of the butt are two holes cut into the wood to allow for a leather thong to loop through and thus provide a handy cinch for a cowboy to use so as to not drop the pistol. This is a feature found on frontier or western used revolvers and seen on many Civil War and Post War Colt single action revolvers. Neat Old West implementation.
