FACTORY ENGRAVED REMINGTON COMMERCIAL MODEL 1866 .50 RF CAL. ROLLING BLOCK SINGLE SHOT PISTOL CA. LATE 1860’S. 8 ½” round barrel. All original and matching in every respect. Commercial variation of the Navy Martial Model 1865. Engraved for Remington on special order most likely by the Louis D. Nimschke engraving firm of New York City and only a handful known today. One of the finest examples known with American scroll engraving on the frame and trigger guard sides. Checkered walnut grip and forend with all the finish. Superb condition with most of the blue on the barrel and mousey grey case hardening on the frame. Perfect working order and good rifling. Very rare.
