Only the "L" is visible on the left side of the triggerguard of "44 CAL". Has a 8" barrel with strong Colt's one-line New York barrel address. Wood grips are very good+, just smooth age handling wear. Metal overall is a pleasing untouched pewter-grey, some light pitting on frame. Iron backstrap, brass triggerguard. A nice example of this desirable U.S. handgun. An early 4-digit serial # which could prove beneficial if this gun went south at the beginning of the war. SOLD Antique: Yes |
