Description:
Serial #10332, .45 Colt, 6 1/2” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This revolver has matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, yoke, extractor, and barrel with the metal retaining 95-97% of the original blue finish that has some minor silvering at the muzzle and raised edges and also has some small impact marks on the top strap. A mild turn-ring is present at the rear of the cylinder and there are some small spots of dark brown freckling with pinprick pitting at the rear frame knuckle on the right side. The hammer and trigger have about 90% of the original bright color case-hardening with some mild graying along the edges and some specks of dark freckling on the hammer spur. Extensive British property marks are present on the left side of the frame and there is an unobtrusive import stamp on the underside of the barrel (not visible with the cylinder in place), and the revolver was converted to .45 Colt at some point. The checkered, diamond-center, S&W medallion grips are numbered to the gun on the interior and in fine shape with minor wear around the flare of the butt and has very little flattening of the points. The lock-up is still tight and the mechanism functions flawlessly. This is a lovely, military marked .455 hand ejector in fine plus condition and would make a great addition to a collection.
