Description:
Antique 1886 Winchester 45-70. This is a very nice 1886 Winchester in the very sought after 45-70 caliber. Serial number indicates made in 1887. Has the standard 26" octagon barrel. The bore is bright and shiny with good strong rifling, I would rate it very good plus. The mechanics are excellent as well. Good solid action, what you expect from an 1886. The markings are all very good throughout. Still retains the original front and rear sights. The metal is a very smooth medium grey where the color case used to be. Gun does not appear to be messed with. The wood is decent with a couple of chips and a small crack in the butt stock. I have shot this rifle since listing it and it extemely accurate and functions flawlessly. Buyer will have a complete description over the phone with the gun in hand.
