Custom Mauser Bolt Action Sporting Rifle with Carved Stock
25-06 ... 24" round barrel ... no sights ... scope bases ... sling swivel studs
The receiver ring is marked 1934 on the left side with the Waffenfabrik, Mauser A.G., Oberndorf A/N address and fitted with swivel style scope bases. The bolt body and extractor have been brilliantly jeweled. Firing pin marked 1 as is the cocking piece. Extractor claw marked 44 with F3 stamp on underside. Manufactured without sights on the tapered barrel marked with the caliber notation "25-06" on the left side just forward of the breech. 97% of the polished blue finish remains with some scattered edge wear and handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
Mounted on a one-piece pistol grip stock with a contrasting forend cap, sling swivel studs, blue steel grip cap, and a smooth steel buttplate with trap. The forend and grip areas feature finely carved oak leaves on textured backgrounds with fancy borders and broad basket weave checkering. The wood is very good with some small scattered indentations, finely detailed carving, attractive grain and figure, and small surface scratches.
