VERY RARE REMINGTON COMMERCIAL OLD MODEL 1866 ROLLING BLOCK .50RF CAL. SINGLE SHOT PISTOL CA. LATE 1870’S. 8 ½” round barrel which has the rare address and patent date stamp “REMINGTON’S ILION, N.Y. PATD OCT.1. 1861 NOV. 15.1861”. A commercial series serial number in the 11xxx range is stamped on the barrel beneath the forend. Left side of frame is unmarked and there are no military proofs-correct for this rare model. 100% original and one of the top 3 or 4 known of only a 100-200 made. Excellent condition with 90% plus blue and 60% greyish case hardening. Stock and forend with the original varnish. Screws have much original blue. Perfect working order and excellent bore. Old collection provenance and first time on the market in nearly 40 years.
