FINE REMINGTON-BEALS U.S. MARTIAL .36 CAL PERCUSSION ARMY-NAVY REVOLVER. Rare with 400 made for the U.S. Army in 1861 and with low survival rate. 7 ½” octagon barrel addressed “BEALS PATENTSEPT. 14. 1858/MANUFACTURED BY REMINGTONS ILION. N.Y.”. All original and matching serial numbers in the 15,xxx range. Superior condition for one of these with 80-90% blue on the barrel and cylinder and the loading lever with 20-30% niter blue. Hammer with most of the case colors slightly muted. Frame a deep grey patina. Excellent barrel address and U.S. Ordnance inspection marks on the barrel, frame and cylinder. Excellent grips with the original finish (no cartouche). Working order and excellent bore and chambers. Old collection provenance.
