ENGRAVED GOLD PLATED REMINGTON SAW HANDLE .22RF VEST POCKET DERRINGER CA. 1860’S. Period New York floral scroll engraving and gold plated. Very probably engraved for Schuyler, Hartley & Graham of New York City by engraver Otto Bodenstein of Newark, N. J. who was one of their best contract engravers and whose work this appears to be. Remarkable condition with almost all the gold finish. Not redone and all original in every respect. Rosewood grips in mint condition. Working order and excellent bore. Barrel with Remington address and “PATENT OCT. 1. 1861” stamp. Unique and with a very old Remington collection provenance. Not on the market in four decades.
