Description:
This round barrel version of the Colt Navy was much more streamlined in appearance than it's predecessor, and established the size and balance standards which became the pattern for the Single Action Army twelve years later. These guns were very popular with Civil War officers, and were often used for presentation with deluxe embellishments after the war. This .36 caliber percussion revolver is in very good, original condition, showing approximately 50% bright blue on the barrel, a good naval engagement scene on the cylinder, and most of the factory varnish finish on the grips. It is in perfect working order, and all numbers and stamps are clear and crisp. There is on anomaly, the serial number stamped on the cylinder is one digit off. The last four digits of the serial number are 6715 on all major parts, except the cylinder, which is 6615. Very likely, a factory error when it was being assembled.
