Description:
Nice early Marlin Model 1893 Rifle. .38-55 Caliber. Has a 26" octagon Barrel with a very good bore showing some fine pitting. Action is  strong and it locks up tight.  Barrel and Cartridge tube are a beautiful Blue -Plumb patina. The reciever, lever , trigger and buttplate show approx. 75% of original Case Hardening finish. I believe it was made in the in the 1890's , as the serial number is XX806. The first 2 digits are  hard to see.  Has a Rocky Mountain Brass Blade front sight and a Rocky Mountain Style  Rear Sight. It is marked .38-55 on top barrel flat in front of reciever. The barrel address on the top barrel flat reads, "MARLIN FIRE-ARMS CO. NEW-HAVEN,CT, U.S.A./ PATENTED, OCT.11,1887,APRIL2, 1889, AUGUST.1, 1893".  The left barrel flat is marked, "SPECIAL SMOKELESS STEEL". The top of the reciever is marked ,"MARLIN SAFETY".  The top of the rear tang is marked , MARLIN/MODEL 93".  The Walnut Forearm and buttstock are solid with some handling marks. Buttstock has a sliver missing on left side of top tang. Screw heads are nice. Buyer pays $35.00 shipping to lower 48 states. I accept USPS Money Orders or Bank Cashier's Check. Will accept personal check, with shipping hold. Layaway available.
