Description:
One of the 5000 of these that were delivered late with very few that saw action in the Civil War. Records indicate that the entire lot was sold to Bannerman. As is this one , all conversions were made privately on the civilian market. This conversion is interesting in that it does not modify the frame in any way, therefore the factory finish of 1864/5 is retained.. .44 Colt cf is shootable provided that bullet diameter is .454 to .458 and compatable with the standard .44 pistol bore of the percussion pistols. Gun was purchased with cheap plastic replacement grips. I made the grips shown in the photos which duplicate the originals. They are not Italian replicas. Excellent mechanical condition. Period holster is included.
