Description:
FINAL REDUCTION  -  This is an extremely rare S&W Revolver, a joint venture between S&W and Mercox which resulted in a total production of about 25 guns.  Using a Model 17-2 S&W the revolver was transformed by S&W into a syringe dart gun of 0.530 diameter - suitable for animal control or possibly veterinary use. The darts were launched using commercial .22 Ramset gas generation cartridges.  Our example here is in mint condition in the original box. A similar gun sold at an Amoskeag in December of 2011 for over $5400.  Again, perhaps the most rare of all of S&W's post war production firearms. Serial number upon request.
