The first thing you appreciate about this early Royal 16 is the amount of case color that remains 50% or better. When you pick the gun up you immediately appreciate the balance and with little needed scrutiny the obviously fine craftsmanship.
Let\'s not ignore the pink elephant in the room and mention the rubber padded cheek piece. On the positive side it is entirely functional and useful. If one did not care for it one could have it removed. As they did remove some wood under it the job would involve the need of a talented stocker/wood restorer but fortunately we do know of a couple with these talents.
I was just off the phone with one of my competitor\'s and we were discussing the lack of good 16g sidelocks on the market.
