PERONNE MUFF PISTOLS 31 CAL., 5/8 " SCREW BBL., BLUE BRIGHT FINISN, WALNUT STOCK, CASED IN IVORY & SILVER BOX. THE LOCK IS MARKED B AS PERONNE/FIL & THE OTHER GUN A HAS THE TOWN OF AVIGNON. THIS TOWN IS IN SE FRANCE WERE THE PERONNE BROTHERS WORKED. THE CANNON STYLE BBL SCREW OFF TO ALLOW LOADING FROM THE BREECH & THE BBL ARE NITER BLUE IN COLOR. THE ORNATE THUMB PLATES ARE SILVER. THE STOCK HAS RAIESED FLORAL CARVINGS. THE PISTOLS COME IN A PERIOD OR SOON AFTER ORIGINAL IVORY & SILVER CASE INCLUDING A CLAWED FOOT DESIGN & A PLAQUE INSCRIBED mcb IN GOTHIC LETTERS ON TOP OF THE IVORY CASE. A EARLY 19TH c PWD FLASK WITH A 43 INSCRIBED ON THE FLASK. THE CASED SET OF PISTOLS IS 50-75% IN FINE NITER BLUE ON THE BBL & BREECH & GRAY & BROWN PATINAS ON THE REMAINING ON THE REMAING METAL SURFACE. THE FLASK IS FINE. THE CASE IS GOOG WITH ADDED UPPER COMPARTMENT, RELINED INTERIOR, , ONE LOOSE & CHIPPED FOOT, & REPLACEMENT HINGES. OVERALL GREAT GUNS IN A GREAT CASING.
