The World War II Commemorative M1 Carbine is number 0747 of only 2500 ever made worldwide and is Dedicated to the Americans who Defended Our Nation In World War II…”Lest We Forget.” The Carbine was designed in 1941 by Winchester under the direction of David Marsh “Carbine” Williams. He created a new short-stroke, gas-tappet piston system to work a slide-operated rotating bolt, similar to that used in the larger M1 Garand. For this reason, the M1 Carbine quickly became known as the “Baby Garand.” This recreation is made by Iver Johnson, in the former U. S. Army World War II Jacksonville Ordnance Depot in Jacksonville, Arkansas. Some of the components of this commemorative Carbine are unused original G. I. parts, and they are fully interchangeable with government contract carbines, assuring the authenticity of this military firearm. The carbine is identical in weight and balance to the rifle issued to our troops in World War II. This beautiful Carbine is further enhanced with a stock made from the finest select walnut , with outstanding grain and figure which is hand finished and polished to a brilliant gloss. The major steel components are polished to a mirror shine and richly plated in 24-karat gold or blued to a gloss black finish. The Great Seal of the United States and the commemorative title are deeply etched and gold gilt in-filled along the operating slide. Additionally, a specially created black cloisonné, fired-enamel, gold medallion is fitted in the stock. Also included is a furniture-finished solid walnut, locking display case lined in rich plush maroon velvet. This is a new, never fired “Baby Garand” and is in mint condition. Included with your firearm is all of the original paperwork and original box along with a Certificate of Authenticity and a pair of white gloves for handling your treasure. You will not find a more beautiful example of the tool that helped safe guard our nation’s security and protect troops from harm that this World War II Commemorative M1 Carbine.
