Beretta AS20EL... The perfect lightweight 20ga… ~5.5 lbs. Beretta ASEL 20 Gauge O/U made ~ 1953, 26" solid rib ejector barrels with top bite cross-bolt.
My photos don't show just how nice this shotgun is. Spectacular wood. The bluing has an french-gray look to it and is good with minor wear spots. Choked ~ .015 & .022, Chambers are 2 3/4". Scalloped frame with 95% coverage scroll engraving. Double triggers. Sweeping Semi-pistol grip buttstock with sharp checkering. 14 14" LOP to a checkered butt pad.
This is a quality Beretta piece with locking screws that secure key screws on the frame, forend, and trigger guard. The ASE and ASEL series are considered by many to be some of Beretta’s finest boxlocks. Reportedly made on the same line as the handmade SO series sidelocks in the Beretta custom shop. They will never be available again at anything close to this price.
This is a trim, lightweight piece in a small frame, that handles with ease.
This shotgun has been hunted, as evidenced by several small items (see photos): a small nick in the stock just back of the safety. Blank oval for initials inlayed into butt stock. This is a very beautiful shotgun. It locks up TIGHT.
This shotgun has been completed disassembled, cleaned, inspected and function checked by Rich Cole at Coles Gunsmithing …it is in perfect working condition (invoice available to purchaser). Rich stated that "this is one of the nicest AS20EL's" he had ever seen.
