I purchased this UNUSED rifle from a New England estate several decades ago. It had been stored in a cabinet wrapped in period newpapers..! It IS believed to be the FINEST example in existence...period.!! It had been UNFIRED at the time I purchased it..I have shot it ONCE to ck. operation..it works and IS NEW-yet very antique..! The European Walnut displays a nicely figured grain.. All surfaces are unblemed. The casecolors are vivid.! Wood has original finish-leather carry strap is w/o splits-cracks.The Bore is 100%sharply rifled having approx.10 lands-grooves .Bear in mind this IS a very RARE example. This example is an upgraded model from the more common variety. These sold (new) back then for about $6-8.00..! What would a Winchester/Remington/Stevens etc. be worth should you locate one "for sale"..??..well, this is a Flobert made in Europe. It is in 99.9%ORIGINAL-Untouched condition..well made and tight.Flobert was the inventor of the Cartridge as we know them back in Paris ca.1850..just in case you were not aware..!
