This rifle has a 24 in. barrel that has a very good bore with strong rifling. It weights 8 lbs. and is in the .450 caliber. According to a letter from Jonathan Kirton, author of "The British Falling Block Breechloading Rifle from 1865", this is the only Military Carbine known that was manufactured by Alexander Henry. Alexander Henry subcontracted with B.S.A. to make the actions of the rifles, which he used in both military and commercial models. This gun was reportedly sold to Capt. Hans Bush. The Book and Letter go with the rifle.
